Awards program (produced by the Entertainment Industries Council, Inc.) in Beverly Hills, CA! The award program is a special recognition component of the Ready on the S.E.T. and…Action! initiative to increase American interest and pursuance of science, engineering and technology. Awards are presented to movies, TV series, radio and TV news programs, print and online journalism for accurate and impactful entertainment portraying and promoting the fields of science, engineering, technology and mathematics. Last year, The Big Bang Theory, NCIS, Person of Interest, Body of Proof, Bones and CSI were among the productions honored.
Petra’s Birthday Contest
According to Petra Volare’s goddessmom Laura Stahlberg, May 7th is Petra Volare’s Julian calendar birthday!! To celebrate, we’re having a brand-new contest: what would PV’s favorite birthday cake be? Winner(s) get a free book, a one-hour creativity session with Reece, and will have the cake named after them in PV’s (eventual) kitchen science and recipes book, as well as in one of the future books in the series. Jack Gantos Wins 2012 Newbery Medal
Congratulations to Newbery Medal 2012 winner Jack Gantos for his book Dead End in Norvelt. Reece had the privilege of knowing Jack when she worked at Emerson College in Boston. This is his 2nd time winning this prestigious children’s book award.
